As we’re preparing for spring, we’re giving the bees an extra helping of supplemental feed to keep all their little mouths well-fed until the nectar flow picks up.
The nurse bees need sufficient food supplies to both nourish themselves and the developing baby bees under their care. Baby worker and drone bees are fed royal jelly for three days, after which they will be fed bee bread, a nutritious mix of pollen, nectar, honey, and bee saliva.
Next up, the left hive is getting ready for the new colony to move in. Stay tuned for an update!
