The queen status in the left hive is a bit confusing. The colony has a large population, but not much brood for the size. There are fresh eggs and larvae present, but they are very early stage and look like they might just be drone brood. There is a bit too much drone brood, so we’ll be monitoring if there is an active queen in the hive.
The left hive is in the process of re-queening itself. There were a few capped supersedure cells within the hive, and no fresh eggs or larvae have been spotted. The supersedure cells look viable. We’re standing by to see if the colony is able to successfully re-queen.
